FAQ_Radix_Nutrition_Freeze_Dried_Meals

  • Storage Requirements
  • Our products do not require refrigeration and can be stored in conditions between -30˚C and +30˚C, however we advise you keep them from direct sunlight.
  • Shelf Life
  • To guarantee quality, our meals all carry a best before date between 1-2 years which can be found on the back of each pack.
  • Why do I need to add water?
  • Freeze-drying removes up to 98% of water from ingredients; so to prepare your meal simply add the required amount of water to fully rehydrate.
  • How much water do I add?
  • Rehydration guidelines are stated on the back of each pack.
  • What is the simplest way to measure water for the meals?
  • If available, a set of digital scales provides the simplest way of measuring the correct volume of water. Simply place the open pouch on your scales and 'zero' them so that they read 0g. Because 1g of water = 1mL, you can add the same amount of water in grams as per the guidelines on the back of the pack.
  • Do I have to measure the exact amount of water?
  • No. Figures on the pack are guidelines, and you can be slightly above or below these without loss of quality. However, with too little water you may find some ingredients have not fully rehydrated or that the consistency is too thick. Should this happen, simply add more water until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Some ingredients have not fully rehydrated
  • This may happen when too little water is added for rehydration, or if the product has not been stirred thoroughly.
