Toitū climate positive certified energy powering Radix Nutrition

radix nutrition and Ecotricity partnership

Radix Nutrition is consciously reducing their environmental impact with Ecotricity Toitū climate positive certified electricity powering their manufacturing and electric vehicle (EV) fleet.

Ecotricity electricity is supplied by certified renewable wind and hydro generation sites, with additional Toitū climate positive certified energy contributed by a substantial base of solar generators.

“Across our manufacturing site, we consume millions of kWh every year. That's a significant energy footprint, and one we take seriously,” said Radix Nutrition General Manager Leighton Cosgrave.

“Ecotricity climate positive power is a partnership that aligns with our values, but securing clean supply is only half the story. We work just as hard on the demand side.”

Machinery used in the Radix factory has been deliberately chosen for its energy efficiency credentials, alongside the use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to ensure motors and compressors only draw the energy they need, rather than running at a fixed full load.

“We track energy consumption down to the second, giving us the granular visibility to make real decisions, developing intelligent defrost cycles and tailored energy schedules that shift and reduce consumption during peak periods, cutting both cost and carbon impact.

“Renewable supply, efficient equipment, and intelligent controls; That's how we approach energy,” said Cosgrave.

Radix’s fully electric vehicle fleet and electric forklifts are also powered by the climate-positive Ecotricity energy sources, further offsetting their climate impact. Additionally, two Tesla Energy AC electric vehicle chargers are installed in the car park to allow for easy fleet, staff and visitor charging.
