Radix Nutrition is proud to be supporting world record powerlifter and New Zealand arm-wrestling champion Ashleigh Hoeta with protein supplements to strengthen her training and recovery.
This week, Radix presented Hoeta with a year's supply of their Precision Whey Protein Complex 1.61 and 1082 creatine on the ShedLife podcast. Her inspirational story of determination, resilience and strength resonated with the team, making it a “no brainer” to join her on her journey.
“When Jason at ShedLife told me a bit about Ashleigh’s story, it felt like the right fit for us to support her. At Radix, we strive to beat the standards we set for ourselves, which is a shared ethos with Ashleigh as a record holder,” said Radix Nutrition General Manager Leighton Cosgrave.
Hoeta is best known for her extraordinary world record 317.5kg equipped bench press, which beat the previous women's record by 22.7kg. She also holds the Oceania and New Zealand titles for arm wrestling, with her sights set on becoming World Champion.
What makes Hoeta’s record-breaking accomplishments even more impressive is that she achieved most of these higher honours in the years after her stroke in 2020. The rehabilitation from this was gruelling, and she had to relearn movement on the left side of her body.
Despite the adversity she has faced, Hoeta has continued to achieve so much whilst being a mother to her two children and advocating for mental health with I AM HOPE.
In 2024 she was recognised as a finalist for the New Zealand Woman of the Year at the Inspirational Women Awards.
